Location: Alpharetta, GA (Hybrid) (2 days in office/week)

Position Summary:

Our client seeking a strategic and results-driven Indirect Category Manager to lead sourcing and category management initiatives across a range of indirect spend categories. This role will be instrumental in optimizing supplier performance, reducing costs, and supporting operational excellence across our U.S. manufacturing and corporate locations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Category Strategy Development:
    Develop and execute category strategies for indirect spend areas such as MRO, CAPEX, Professional Sservices, FF&E and Facilities Management.

  • Supplier Management:
    Identify, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, service, and cost-effectiveness. Lead supplier performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Sourcing & Negotiation:
    Lead RFx processes, contract negotiations, and supplier selection in alignment with company policies and stakeholder requirements.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    Partner with internal stakeholders across Operations, Finance, IT, and HR to understand business needs and align procurement strategies accordingly.

  • Cost Optimization:
    Identify and deliver cost savings opportunities while maintaining or improving service levels and compliance.

  • Risk Management:
    Monitor market trends, supply risks, and regulatory changes to proactively manage category risks.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA or CPSM preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in indirect procurement or category management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills
  • Proficiency in procurement tools (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Lean Manufacturing Principles

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience in the chemicals or process manufacturing industry
  • Familiarity with sustainability and supplier diversity initiatives
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed organization
  • Six Sigma Six Certified
