A growing, asset‑intensive organization is hiring a Category Manager - Services to lead sourcing and supplier strategy across a broad portfolio of industrial, maintenance, technical, and professional services supporting large‑scale operations.
This role sits close to the business and partners heavily with operations, maintenance, engineering, finance, and legal to ensure service continuity, cost control, and contractual risk management.
What you'll be responsible for
- Develop and execute category strategies for labor‑ and contract‑driven services
- Lead RFx processes, supplier selection, negotiations, and contract execution
- Own performance‑based service agreements, scopes of work, and commercial terms
- Manage supplier performance through KPIs, scorecards, and corrective actions
- Conduct cost modeling and total cost of ownership analysis to inform decisions
- Monitor market conditions, labor trends, and supplier risk
- Partner with legal on contract structure, risk allocation, and lifecycle management
- Support operational continuity across production, projects, and planned outages

- Experience managing services categories in manufacturing, mining, energy, or other asset‑heavy environments
- Strong background negotiating labor‑intensive and contract‑driven scopes of work
- Comfortable owning categories from strategy through execution, not advisory only

- Strong commercial judgment, analytical skills, and supplier management capability
