About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and driven CNC Manager to lead our CNC machining operations within a high-precision, tooling-focused manufacturing environment. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of complex, tight-tolerance components with exceptional quality and efficiency. You will oversee a team of skilled machinists and programmers, manage advanced CNC equipment, and drive continuous improvement across all machining processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the CNC department, including scheduling, resource planning, and workflow optimisation.
  • Supervise the production of high-precision tooling components, ensuring adherence to tight tolerances and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to review technical drawings and optimize manufacturability.
  • Oversee CNC programming and setup for multi-axis machines, mills, and lathes.
  • Implement and maintain preventive maintenance programs for CNC equipment.
  • Drive lean manufacturing initiatives and process improvements to reduce cycle times and scrap rates.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
  • Train and mentor machinists and programmers to build a high-performance team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Strong background in precision machining and tooling manufacturing.
  • Proficient in CNC programming (G-code, CAM software such as Mastercam, Siemens NX, or Fusion 360).
  • Deep understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and machining best practices.
  • Experience with multi-axis CNC machines and high-speed machining.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools.
  • Degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field preferred.
