Overview:
A well-established and growing organization in the aerospace, defense, and electronics sectors is seeking a Controller to lead financial operations and ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX requirements. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in manufacturing finance and a passion for process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead month-end close processes including journal entries, operating reports, and account analysis.
• Prepare quarterly and annual financial schedules, tax documentation, and state filings.
• Develop annual budgets and monthly forecasts.
• Manage fixed assets and support capital expenditure planning.
• Review inventory for obsolescence and excess in line with company policy.
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
• Collaborate with internal audit to maintain financial controls and SOX compliance.
• Oversee system access reviews and inventory cycle counts.
• Serve as primary check signer for cash disbursements.
• Provide financial insights to support cost control and operational efficiency.
• Maintain and improve cost accounting procedures and standards.
• Partner with operations leadership to analyze production data, margins, and performance metrics.
• Create and manage reports for internal and external stakeholders using advanced Excel functions.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing finance role.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across departments.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to navigate complex scenarios.
