Director Quality and Food Safety
Position Summary:
We are seeking a visionary and experienced Director of Quality and Food Safety to lead and scale our global quality assurance and food safety programs across 1,000+ restaurant locations and a diverse network of suppliers. This role is critical to ensuring that our brand consistently delivers exceptional food quality, safety, and compliance across all markets.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a global quality and food safety strategy aligned with the company's operational and brand goals.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to embed a culture of quality and safety throughout the organization.
Operational Oversight
- Oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of food safety and quality systems across all restaurant locations and supply chain partners.
- Establish and monitor KPIs for food safety, sanitation, and product quality performance.
Supplier Quality Management
- Develop and enforce supplier quality assurance programs, including audits, certifications, and corrective action plans.
- Collaborate with procurement and R&D teams to ensure supplier compliance with global food safety standards and product specifications.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with international, national, and local food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA, EFSA, Codex Alimentarius).
- Lead crisis management and incident response related to food safety or quality issues.
Training & Development
- Design and implement training programs for restaurant teams and suppliers on food safety protocols, HACCP, GMP, and quality standards.
- Build and mentor a global team of quality assurance professionals.
Technology & Innovation
- Leverage data analytics and digital tools to monitor quality trends and drive proactive improvements.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance food safety and quality assurance capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Public Health, or related field.
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in food safety and quality assurance, preferably in a global restaurant or foodservice environment.
- Deep knowledge of global food safety standards (e.g., GFSI, HACCP, ISO 22000).
- Proven experience managing large-scale supplier networks and international operations.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 30%.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as PCQI, SQF Practitioner, or Lead Auditor.
- Experience with digital quality management systems (QMS) and food traceability platforms.
- Multilingual capabilities are a plus.
