Position Overview
Our Client is seeking a Distribution Center Supervisor to lead daily warehouse and distribution operations in a fast-paced logistics environment. This role is responsible for supervising warehouse personnel, coordinating shipping and receiving activities, optimizing labor resources, ensuring inventory accuracy, and maintaining a safe and productive workplace. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience managing warehouse teams, meeting operational deadlines, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, shipping, and inventory movement.
- Lead, coach, train, and develop warehouse employees to ensure operational excellence and adherence to company standards.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, workforce planning, performance management, and employee development.
- Develop staffing plans and labor schedules to meet changing business demands and service levels.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Monitor order fulfillment activities to maintain high standards of inventory and shipping accuracy.
- Ensure all shipments are properly packaged, labeled, documented, and prepared for delivery through various transportation channels.
- Collaborate with internal departments to meet operational priorities and customer service expectations.
- Establish and adjust work assignments, procedures, and workflows to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Analyze operational challenges and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
- Support inventory control activities, cycle counts, and annual physical inventory processes.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, quality standards, and workplace safety requirements.
- Investigate and resolve operational issues, equipment concerns, and employee-related matters.
- Recommend process improvements, workflow enhancements, and resource utilization strategies.
- Participate in special projects and other operational initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of warehouse, distribution, or logistics leadership experience.
- Previous experience supervising hourly warehouse employees in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with inventory management, shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment operations.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and standard Microsoft Office applications.
