Position Overview

A growing distribution operation is seeking a hands-on Distribution Center Supervisor to lead daily warehouse activities and ensure efficient order fulfillment, inventory accuracy, shipping performance, and workforce productivity. This position is responsible for overseeing warehouse personnel, coordinating inbound and outbound product flow, maintaining safety standards, and driving continuous operational improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support warehouse associates across receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping functions.
  • Coordinate daily workflows to ensure customer orders, transfers, returns, and replenishment activities are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Develop staffing plans and labor schedules that align with operational demands and service requirements.
  • Monitor shipping and receiving activities to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company procedures.
  • Oversee preparation of outbound shipments, including packaging, labeling, documentation, and carrier coordination.
  • Ensure inventory is picked, staged, and loaded correctly while maintaining a high level of order accuracy.
  • Train and mentor team members on warehouse procedures, equipment operation, safety practices, and productivity expectations.
  • Evaluate labor utilization and adjust staffing levels or overtime requirements as business conditions change.
  • Partner with internal departments to support operational priorities and meet customer service goals.
  • Assist with warehouse layout planning, space utilization, and material flow optimization.
  • Review existing processes and recommend improvements that enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Investigate operational issues and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
  • Foster a positive, accountable work environment focused on teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate activities with other supervisors and management team members to ensure smooth facility operations.
  • Communicate equipment concerns and maintenance requirements to appropriate personnel.
  • Enforce company policies, operational procedures, and workplace safety standards.
  • Support cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reconciliation activities.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and performance metrics.
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered.

Experience

  • Minimum of three years of supervisory experience within a warehouse, distribution, logistics, or fulfillment environment.
  • Proven experience leading frontline teams in a fast-paced operation.
  • Working knowledge of inventory management practices and warehouse management systems.
  • Experience utilizing computerized business applications, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.

  • Fast-paced setting requiring attention to detail and adherence to established safety practices.
  • Use of approved safety footwear and other required personal protective equipment while in operational areas.
