Electrical Engineer

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to support a growing chemical manufacturing operation. We welcome applications from recent graduates and early-career engineers with internship or co-op experience, as well as experienced engineers looking to take on a larger role in plant reliability, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives. This individual will play a key role in supporting and enhancing the facility's electrical systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams across the site.

The Electrical Engineer will assist with troubleshooting equipment issues, supporting capital projects, improving system reliability, and ensuring electrical systems operate safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for plant electrical equipment and systems.
  • Assist with troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation issues to minimize downtime.
  • Support maintenance and reliability initiatives focused on improving equipment performance.
  • Participate in electrical and instrumentation projects from concept through implementation.
  • Review, update, and maintain electrical drawings, schematics, and documentation.
  • Assist with commissioning, startup, and validation of new equipment and system upgrades.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Help ensure compliance with company safety standards and applicable electrical codes and regulations.
  • Support root cause failure analyses and develop corrective actions.
  • Track project progress, budgets, and timelines for assigned engineering initiatives.
  • Work with contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams on project execution and maintenance activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Internship, co-op, or hands-on engineering experience within manufacturing, chemical processing, oil & gas, power generation, food & beverage, pulp & paper, pharmaceuticals, or a related industrial environment preferred.
  • Understanding of industrial electrical systems, motors, drives, transformers, power distribution, and control systems.
  • Exposure to PLCs, instrumentation, and process control systems is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
  • Eagerness to learn, develop technically, and grow within the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship or co-op experience supporting plant operations, maintenance, reliability, controls, or capital projects.
  • Exposure to Allen Bradley PLCs, DCS systems, or industrial automation platforms.
  • Experience reading electrical one-lines, P&IDs, and control drawings.
  • Knowledge of NFPA, NEC, and general electrical safety practices.
