Extrusion Process Engineer (M/F/D)
Our client is a growing international manufacturer operating in a high‑precision film and sheet production environment. The site in South Germany is a key profit and technology centre, running continuous processes to produce advanced materials for packaging, healthcare, and technical applications.
To strengthen the team, they are searching for a hands‑on Process Specialist with strong experience in extrusion, film processing, calendering, compounding, or laminating operations.
Your Responsibilities
You will be responsible for ensuring stable, efficient, and high‑quality output.
This is a role for someone who enjoys deep technical problem‑solving, working closely with operators, and getting inside the process to understand how materials behave under heat, pressure, and speed.
What You Will Do
- Take full responsibility for the extrusion process on a continuous film or sheet line
- Analyse and optimise process parameters (temperature, pressure, throughput, web tension, nip settings)
- Work hands‑on with mixing, compounding, or powder‑based raw materials (e.g., PVC dryblend, granulates, additives)
- Support calendering, coating or lamination stages depending on product type
- Troubleshoot thickness deviations, surface defects, material inconsistencies, and unplanned downtime
- Run trials and adjustments for new recipes or materials
- Collaborate daily with operators and maintenance to stabilise line performance
- Later: lead improvement projects (Lean/OEE/automation/process upgrades)
What You Bring
Must‑have qualifications:
- Strong experience in extrusion (blown film, cast film, sheet extrusion, or similar)
- Background in films / packaging / technical foils / calendered products
- Hands‑on mindset: not purely academic - ideally Techniker / Meister / Prozesstechniker
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from process data and analytics
- Understanding of mixing, compounding, or powder/granulate material handling
- Familiarity with continuous processes (web handling, tension control, roller settings)
- German-speaking on the shopfloor; English beneficial for global interfaces
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of PVC, PET, TPU, blister films, or other specialty materials
- Experience with calenders, laminators, coaters, or paper machines (strong crossover)
Why Join?
- Work in a high‑impact production environment where your expertise directly drives output
- A chance to grow into project and process engineering roles once you master the line
- Global exposure with a highly stable, well‑invested manufacturing group
- A site where your technical decisions matter and are visible immediately
