Global Automation Engineer (F/M/D)
A global healthcare organisation is seeking a Global Automation Engineer - Equipment Integration to join its Digital Process Development team. Based in Germany, this role sits within a centre of excellence focused on driving digitalisation and automation across international pharmaceutical operations. You'll work within a global expert network to implement harmonised equipment integration solutions that enhance automation, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement interfaces between machines and systems to enable seamless communication and control.
- Ensure smooth integration of hardware and software across production environments.
- Analyse existing processes and identify opportunities for automation to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, test, and deploy automation solutions globally.
- Engage with stakeholders throughout project lifecycles, from concept to operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in automation technology, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- Several years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, with expertise in automation systems (PLC, SCADA), HMI, IoT, middleware, edge devices, and network protocols.
- Strong knowledge of GMP and regulatory standards.
- Familiarity with industrial communication systems (e.g., Ethernet, ProfiNet, Profibus) and protocols (e.g., OPC/UA).
- Experience with documentation tools for GMP compliance (e.g., iGrafx, B.DocS).
- Fluent English (written and spoken); German language skills are a plus.
