Position Summary:
This role is responsible for managing the sourcing and procurement of goods and services across global operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and supporting complex projects involving engineered systems and capital equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain procurement schedules based on project timelines, documentation requirements, and product development plans.
- Prepare and issue Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for engineered systems, components, and auxiliary equipment related to power generation.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers to ensure a reliable and competitive vendor base.
- Create and manage purchase orders using ERP systems (SAP preferred, but other platforms acceptable).
- Apply working knowledge of gas and steam turbine auxiliary systems to support sourcing decisions.
- Lead procurement efforts for capital projects and new initiatives.
- Resolve issues related to equipment, systems, and supplier performance.
- Analyze bids and negotiate pricing and terms within budget and scope.
- Ensure supplier compliance with contractual obligations and performance standards.
- Coordinate with internal teams to align procurement activities with project and operational needs.
- Manage high-value purchase orders and contracts with complex scopes and risk profiles.
- Prioritize and manage multiple sourcing activities simultaneously.
- Act as the primary point of contact for procurement-related communications and coordination.
- Work independently on a wide range of sourcing tasks with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate with quality and inspection teams to address non-conforming goods or services.
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations focusing on quality, delivery, and reliability.
- Develop and maintain long-term supplier agreements to support strategic sourcing goals.
- Support leadership in achieving organizational objectives and cost-saving initiatives.
- Participate in domestic and international sourcing activities; travel may be required up to 20%.
- Manage an annual contract portfolio of at least $5 million.
- Review and negotiate contract terms to align with company and project requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience in procurement or sourcing (3-5 years) will be considered.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication skills for writing reports, business correspondence, and presenting to stakeholders.
- Proficient in financial calculations and basic algebra/geometry.
- Capable of understanding and executing complex instructions and schedules.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and scheduling tools.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Primarily office-based with occasional standing and walking.
- May need to lift up to 10 pounds.
- Quiet work environment; hearing protection may be required in specific areas.
