Location: Plano, TX (Onsite)
Compensation: $60,000 - $65,000 Base Salary
A growing distribution organization is seeking a Buyer III to support inventory procurement, supplier management, and purchasing operations across a diverse product portfolio. This role is ideal for a supply chain professional who enjoys vendor relationship management, inventory planning, and driving continuous improvement within the procurement function.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement of inventory from domestic and international suppliers.
- Review, issue, and monitor purchase orders to ensure product availability and inventory targets are met.
- Own assigned supplier relationships and vendor programs, driving performance improvements and operational efficiency.
- Track supplier requirements including minimum order quantities, lead times, and ordering schedules.
- Partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve supply, inventory, and service-related issues.
- Identify root causes of procurement challenges and implement effective solutions.
- Manage at-risk inventory situations and proactively escalate supply concerns when necessary.
- Analyze purchasing trends and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and service levels.
- Support inventory optimization initiatives while balancing customer demand and inventory investment.
- Collaborate with operations, planning, inventory, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless execution.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory management, or supply chain.
- Experience managing supplier relationships and procurement programs.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with inventory planning, replenishment, or materials management preferred.
- APICS CPIM, CPM, CPSM, or related certifications are a plus.
- Exposure to demand planning, forecasting, SQL, BI reporting, or supply chain analytics is preferred.
