Logistics Specialist

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to join our client's dynamic logistics team at our manufacturing facility. The Logistics Specialist will support the logistics and supply chain functions by coordinating the movement of goods, managing inventory, and ensuring timely deliveries. This role is ideal for someone who is looking to start or grow their career in logistics and operations within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inventory Management:

   • Assist with monitoring inventory levels, ensuring that materials and products are stocked according to demand forecasts.

   • Track product movement in and out of the warehouse, ensuring accurate inventory records are maintained.

   • Help prepare inventory reports and perform regular stock audits to ensure accuracy.

2. Shipment Coordination:

   • Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to schedule and track shipments.

   • Ensure timely delivery of raw materials and finished goods by managing the dispatch process.

   • Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs forms (if applicable).

3. Order Fulfillment Support:

   • Assist in processing orders for production and distribution, ensuring that all required materials are available and delivered on time.

   • Support the fulfillment of customer orders by working closely with the production and customer service teams.

4. Logistics Data Entry:

   • Maintain accurate records in logistics management systems, updating shipment and inventory data as necessary.

   • Assist in the data entry of transportation costs, ensuring proper tracking of expenses.

   • Help track key performance metrics related to delivery times, costs, and stock levels.

5. Warehouse Support:

   • Assist in organizing and maintaining the warehouse, ensuring materials are stored efficiently and safely.

   • Help manage incoming deliveries and verify that goods received match purchase orders.

   • Ensure that warehouse safety protocols and quality control standards are met.

6. Problem Resolution:

   • Assist in resolving logistics-related issues, including delivery delays, shipping discrepancies, or inventory inaccuracies.

   • Communicate effectively with vendors, suppliers, and internal departments to resolve issues in a timely manner.

7. Compliance Support:

   • Support adherence to logistics-related regulatory and safety compliance standards.

   • Assist with documentation related to customs, import/export regulations, and transportation safety requirements.

Qualifications:

• Education: Associate's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (Bachelor's preferred).

• Experience:

  • At least 1-2 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse operations (experience in a manufacturing setting is a plus).

  • Basic understanding of logistics processes, inventory management, and transportation systems.

• Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with logistics software or ERP systems is a plus.

  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
