Our client is a family-owned manufacturing company in the food sector with an informal culture, flat hierarchies, and a strong emphasis on collaboration, openness, and personal accountability.

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the site's technical maintenance organisation. The role includes responsibility for a team of 20 technical professionals, including mechanics, electricians, an in-house workshop, a caretaker, and 4 team leaders.

A key part of this position is supporting the completion and commissioning of two new production lines currently under construction.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop the maintenance team, including mechanics, electricians, technicians, and team leaders
* Ensure availability and reliability of all production equipment across food processing and packaging operations
* Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programmes
* Oversee the installation, commissioning, and integration of two new production lines
* Act as the primary point of contact for technical issues and troubleshooting
* Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and quality departments
* Drive continuous improvement, efficiency, and reliability initiatives

* Manage budgets, spare parts inventory, and external service providers
* Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and food-industry standards
* Foster a culture of openness, honesty, teamwork, and technical excellence

Required Experience & Qualifications
* Strong technical background; ideally holding a Meister qualification or similar technical certification
* Proven leadership experience in maintenance or technical operations
* Experience in the food industry highly preferred
* Background in the packaging industry is also very suitable
* Candidates from other industries will be considered if they bring the right skills and mindset
* Strong communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate diverse technical teams
* Ability to remain calm and level-headed in a dynamic environment where daily challenges are expected
* Hands-on mentality with a structured approach to problem solving
* Fluent German required
