Maintenance Manager
Seeking a dynamic Maintenance Superintendent to lead the Converting Department's maintenance operations at a large manufacturing facility. This leadership role will drive safety initiatives, enhance team development, optimize maintenance practices, and ensure operational excellence across all converting processes, producing tissue, towel, and napkin products.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Leadership:
Champion a strong safety culture by encouraging proactive risk identification and supporting mitigation strategies to foster a safe work environment.Team Development:
Support the growth of the maintenance team by facilitating training, promoting problem-solving, and building a culture of accountability and ownership.Continuous Improvement:
Set and monitor performance metrics to drive continuous process improvements aligned with business and operational goals.Maintenance Execution:
Ensure the quality of all craft work while providing direction to enhance efficiency. Collaborate with engineers and operators to identify daily maintenance priorities and effectively manage planned shutdowns.Technical Expertise:
Assist teams in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues to improve safety, equipment reliability, product quality, and operational uptime.Operational Support:
Engage in safety training, coaching, team management, data reporting, and continuous performance evaluations to support business initiatives.Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with Environmental Health & Safety, Operations, Reliability, and Engineering teams to improve planning processes and drive operational efficiencies.
Minimum Qualifications:
Proven supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, including direct responsibility for managing employees.
Hands-on maintenance experience within manufacturing or industrial settings.
Proficient in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Knowledge and implementation of precision maintenance practices.
Experience in converting operations within industries such as pulp & paper, corrugated packaging, plastics, or food & beverage manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field.
Strong background in manufacturing methods and continuous improvement systems.
Familiarity with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP).
Specific experience in the pulp and paper industry is highly desirable.
