Role Summary

Lead the maintenance function for a chemical manufacturing facility specializing in organic synthesis. Ensure operational reliability, safety, and compliance while driving continuous improvement across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and infrastructure systems. Manage internal staff and contractors, optimize maintenance strategies, and support long-term asset integrity.


Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and enforce strict adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability.
  • Plan and execute scheduled shutdowns and major maintenance activities.
  • Manage team performance, training, and succession planning to build a high-performing workforce.
  • Oversee maintenance workflows, contractor coordination, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor and analyze maintenance KPIs to identify trends and implement improvements.
  • Communicate maintenance status, reliability metrics, and performance updates to site leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and quality systems (e.g., ISO9001).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering (or related discipline).
  • 7-10 years of maintenance experience in chemical manufacturing, with emphasis on organic synthesis processes.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience in a maintenance environment.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance KPIs, reliability engineering principles, and root cause analysis.
  • Proficiency in SAP or similar CMMS systems and maintenance work processes.
  • Skilled in budgeting, contractor management, and labor relations.
