Company Overview
Our client, a leading manufacturer within the steel processing sector, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations at a high-volume production facility. This is a highly visible leadership role partnering closely with Operations, Engineering, Safety, and Plant Leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing performance.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of maintenance technicians across a multi-shift operation.
- Manage all preventive, predictive, reactive, and emergency maintenance activities.
- Oversee maintenance planning, scheduling, work orders, and CMMS utilization.
- Drive equipment reliability, up time, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring equipment failures.
- Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and vendor relationships.
- Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Safety, and Plant Leadership to support production goals.
- Support capital projects including equipment upgrades, installations, and facility improvements.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, LOTO procedures, and all safety requirements.
Qualifications
Experience
- 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience within steel processing, metals manufacturing, fabrication, or heavy industrial manufacturing.
- Strong background in preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
- Proven experience managing maintenance teams in a production environment.
Technical Skills & Tools
- Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial control systems.
- PLC-controlled equipment, VFDs, motors, sensors, and automation systems.
- CMMS software and maintenance planning systems.
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S methodologies.
- Experience supporting equipment such as cranes, conveyors, coil processing equipment, slitters, levelers, and industrial shears is highly preferred.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field preferred.
- Equivalent maintenance leadership experience will also be considered.
Schedule
- Full-time position supporting a multi-shift manufacturing operation.
- Must be available to respond to critical maintenance issues and support plant operations as needed.
