Material Planner
The Materials Planner is responsible for ensuring the seamless flow of components and raw materials needed for production. This role involves managing forecasts, procurement activities, and supplier communications to support manufacturing schedules and meet customer expectations. The coordinator plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, optimizing supply chain processes, and driving operational efficiency.
Primary Duties:
Supply Chain & Procurement Management:
- Oversee demand forecasting and initiate purchase orders for assigned suppliers and material categories.
- Monitor and track deliveries to prevent production delays and ensure consistent material availability.
- Maintain proactive communication with vendors and internal teams to resolve supply issues and improve delivery performance.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and optimize inventory levels in collaboration with sourcing and production teams.
- Leverage data-driven insights to evaluate supplier performance and implement process improvements.
Production Support:
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to address material shortages and ensure timely issue resolution.
- Partner with quality assurance to support supplier development and corrective action plans.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Facilitate clear and consistent communication across departments to support operational goals.
- Engage with external partners-including suppliers and logistics providers-to anticipate and mitigate potential disruptions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, business, finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in supply chain, procurement, or production planning roles preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive results.
