Overview:
DSJ Global, a leading E2E Supply Chain and Manufacturing recruitment organization, is currently partnered with a specialty chemical manufacturing group who are looking to add a skilled Mechanical Engineer to their team. This role supports the maintenance and engineering operations of the Mississippi plant to ensure the company's business, economic, and compliance targets are met.
Job Responsibilites:
- Provide leadership for Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) initiatives and ensure compliance with safety rules and procedures.
- Oversee mechanical maintenance operations, including planning, scheduling, and contractor management.
- Drive reliability improvements to reduce downtime and maintenance costs; monitor and report performance metrics.
- Ensure completion of preventive and predictive maintenance (PM/PdM) inspections and maintain accurate equipment records.
- Manage Mechanical Integrity (MI) programs in compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, recommend repair vs. replacement, and support maintenance teams with technical guidance.
- Administer site vibration and lubrication programs, including training and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and execute capital and expense projects from concept through startup, ensuring safety, timeliness, and budget adherence.
- Maintain and improve policies and procedures for IMS, PSM, and reliability programs.
- Monitor physical plant integrity and manage relationships with external contractors for specialized maintenance needs.
- Forecast equipment replacement needs and identify cost-reduction and sustainability projects.
- Collaborate with corporate reliability teams to align site practices with organizational standards.
Position Requirements/Qualifications:
- 5+ years of chemical manufacturing experience (or similar environment)
- BS in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred)
- Technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment in chemical or refinery plant
- Good understanding of predictive and preventative reliability techniques
- Knowledge of current PSM and MI regulations
