Nuclear Quality Assurance Engineer

Overview

Our partner is a growing engineering and energy technology organization seeking a Nuclear Quality Assurance Engineer to support nuclear-grade products and programs within a highly regulated environment. This role will be responsible for implementing and maintaining quality assurance programs, supporting audits and regulatory compliance activities, and ensuring products and suppliers meet applicable nuclear industry requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to expand their expertise in nuclear quality systems and advanced energy technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain nuclear quality assurance programs across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and testing activities.
  • Interpret and apply nuclear quality requirements, codes, and regulatory standards.
  • Support internal, customer, supplier, and certification audits while serving as a key quality interface.
  • Review nonconformance reports, corrective actions, and quality investigations.
  • Maintain quality records, procedures, work instructions, and compliance documentation.
  • Support supplier qualification activities and quality oversight throughout the supply chain.
  • Develop inspection standards and provide technical support for quality and inspection teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support quality system enhancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting quality assurance within the nuclear industry.
  • Working knowledge of nuclear quality and regulatory standards.
  • Experience supporting audits, corrective actions, and compliance programs.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to analyze quality data and identify trends.
  • Experience with ERP systems and quality management processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting first-of-a-kind (FOAK) programs, advanced reactor technologies, or government energy projects.
  • Progress toward or qualification as an NQA-1 Lead Auditor.
  • Experience with nuclear supplier quality programs and certification audits.
  • Military nuclear power experience.
