Quality Supervisor

Our client is a food manufacturing company that is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to support all quality and food safety activities within a manufacturing facility in Reno, NV. This individual will lead quality team members, ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements, and partner cross-functionally with Operations, Sanitation, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to drive continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in food manufacturing quality systems, strong leadership skills, and a passion for maintaining the highest standards of product quality and food safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and develop Quality Assurance Technicians and related quality personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with GMPs, HACCP, SQF, and all applicable food safety regulations.
  • Conduct routine quality audits, inspections, and verification activities throughout the facility.
  • Investigate quality issues, customer complaints, and non-conformances, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor production processes and product specifications to ensure consistent quality standards.
  • Support internal, customer, and third-party audits, maintaining audit readiness at all times.
  • Manage quality documentation, records, and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee hold-and-release programs for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
  • Partner with Operations and Sanitation teams to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with employee training on food safety, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support validation, verification, and environmental monitoring programs as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of quality assurance experience within a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, SQF, FDA, and food safety regulations.
  • Experience supporting internal and external audits.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
