Role Overview
The Operations Manager - IGT partners closely with the Plant Leadership Team to lead manufacturing operations and ensure the facility safely delivers - and exceeds - its operational and financial objectives. Success in this role is measured through both financial and non‑financial performance, including safety, quality, productivity, on‑time delivery, and workforce engagement.
This role combines strategic leadership with tactical, day‑to‑day execution on the plant floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and sustain a culture where safety is the top priority, proactively managing leading and lagging EHS indicators to reduce risk and prevent injuries.
- Lead manufacturing operations in alignment with company policies, goals, and objectives, with a strong focus on process capability, control, and accountability.
- Translate long‑term business strategy into actionable short‑ and long‑term operating plans that drive measurable results.
- Lead and develop a multi‑disciplinary plant team, ensuring monthly forecasts, operational metrics, and improvement targets are met.
- Build, coach, and retain a high‑performing team through effective hiring, development, performance management, and succession planning.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing and TPM, to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and lower plant breakeven.
- Implement quarter‑over‑quarter improvement strategies across productivity, spend, delivery performance, quality, and safety.
- Lead initiatives to improve on‑time delivery, yield, scrap reduction, and overall operational effectiveness.
- Ensure consistent execution of quality systems and process excellence standards.
- Manage operational budgets, capital planning, appropriation requests, and project follow‑up.
- Support long‑range operational planning related to volume, workforce needs, and financial performance.
- Partner cross‑functionally with engineering, quality, finance, procurement, HR, and other support functions to ensure alignment and execution.
- Maintain compliance with ethical standards, business conduct policies, and export‑controlled regulations.
- Serve as a key interface with union leadership and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
- Lead by example, reinforcing that safety is a way of life, not just a priority.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering from an accredited institution
- 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing or plant operations
- Minimum of 5 years of people leadership experience
- Authorization to work in the United States (visa sponsorship not available)
- Ability to lawfully access export‑controlled information
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in aerospace and/or automotive manufacturing
- Experience in investment casting or complex metal manufacturing environments
