Position Summary
The Operations Manager will provide leadership for a multi-functional warehouse and distribution operation, overseeing daily activities related to shipping, receiving, inventory management, safety, workforce development, and customer service. This individual will act as a key liaison between leadership and frontline employees, ensuring operational objectives are achieved while fostering a positive, team-oriented culture.
This role is well suited for a hands-on leader who enjoys being on the warehouse floor, developing employees, improving processes, and driving operational performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of warehouse and operations personnel
- Maintain a strong floor presence and provide day-to-day operational leadership
- Oversee shipping, receiving, inventory control, and order fulfillment activities
- Monitor warehouse productivity, staffing levels, and workflow efficiency
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and operational procedures
- Drive employee engagement, accountability, and performance management initiatives
- Conduct employee coaching, performance reviews, and corrective actions as needed
- Collaborate with leadership to support staffing, workforce planning, and operational goals
- Analyze operational metrics and KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, service, and efficiency
- Develop strong working relationships across departments to ensure seamless operations
- Assist with transportation coordination and customer service initiatives as needed
Qualifications
- 5+ years of leadership experience within warehouse, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial operations environments
- Experience leading hourly employees in a fast-paced operation
- Strong employee relations, communication, and team-building skills
- Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop employees
- Knowledge of shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse best practices
- Experience managing safety programs and operational compliance initiatives
- Ability to balance strategic objectives with daily operational execution
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
