Process Control Engineer

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Process Control Engineer to join our chemical manufacturing team. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining control systems and strategies to optimize plant operations, ensure process safety, improve product quality, and reduce operational costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing Honeywell Experion PKS control system, Honeywell Safety Manager SC SIS, and other site process control equipment. Implement control strategies and loop tuning to enhance process stability and efficiency.

  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to troubleshoot process issues and recommend solutions.

  • Participate in the design and commissioning of new processes and modifications to existing systems.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations through effective control system design and operation.

  • Analyze production data and process trends to identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Develop and maintain documentation, including control logic diagrams, process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and control narratives.

  • Support instrumentation selection, calibration, and performance monitoring.

  • Lead or assist in process hazard analyses (PHAs), management of change (MOC) reviews, and other risk assessments.

  • Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in process control and automation.

Qualifications:

  • Required Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering is required for this role.

  • 3+ years of experience in process control within a chemical, petrochemical, or related manufacturing environment.

  • Strong understanding of process control theory and experience with DCS/PLC systems (e.g., Honeywell, Emerson DeltaV, Siemens, Rockwell).

  • Familiarity with instrumentation, control valves, analyzers, and safety instrumented systems.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of industry standards (ISA, IEC, NFPA) and safety regulations (OSHA, EPA).

  • Experience with programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, function block, SFC) is a plus.
