Process Engineer
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Process Engineer to join our team at our mining and processing facility. This role is critical to optimizing mineral extraction and refining processes, improving plant efficiency, and ensuring environmental and safety compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical or metallurgical engineering and experience in mineral processing or hydrometallurgy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Optimization: Analyze and improve existing mineral extraction and separation processes to maximize recovery and throughput.
- Technical Support: Provide engineering support to operations, maintenance, and laboratory teams.
- Data Analysis: Monitor process performance using data analytics and control systems; recommend adjustments to improve efficiency.
- Project Management: Lead or support capital and improvement projects from concept through commissioning.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all processes meet environmental regulations and safety standards.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve process-related issues in real-time to minimize downtime.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of process changes, trials, and performance metrics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a mining or mineral processing environment (rare earth experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of hydrometallurgical and pyrometallurgical processes.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., METSIM, HSC Chemistry) and data analysis tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Knowledge of environmental and safety regulations in mining operations.
