Position Objective
The Process Engineer supports the production of existing and new products by driving process optimization, performance improvement, and innovation. This position serves as a key technical knowledge holder for manufacturing processes, contributing to scale‑up initiatives, operational excellence, and sustainable manufacturing outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and maintain mass and energy balances for assigned processes
- Provide technical expertise to cross‑functional teams and external partners to deliver products aligned with market needs
- Develop, maintain, and improve process documentation, control strategies, and troubleshooting guides
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using statistical analysis and Lean manufacturing principles, including:
- Increasing production rates and throughput
- Improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
- Reducing processing costs through yield improvement and raw material optimization
- Monitor and analyze process performance data, driving measurable improvements in KPIs
- Lead and participate in structured problem‑solving for complex process challenges
- Support sustainability initiatives, with a focus on energy efficiency and process optimization
- Execute and support small‑ to mid‑scale capital projects
- Enable successful scale‑up of new products and technologies from pilot to full commercial production
- Support third‑party or toll manufacturing activities as required
- Train operations personnel on process fundamentals and control systems
- Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety programs, and site safety standards
- Actively participate in safety programs and continuous improvement culture initiatives
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, Food Engineering, or a related discipline
- 2+ years of experience in industrial wet processes (experience with fermentation, extracts, or spray drying is a strong plus)
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to apply data and statistics to real‑world manufacturing challenges
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Demonstrated project management and organizational skills
- Strategic, systems‑level thinker with a structured approach to problem solving
- Team‑oriented mindset with a high degree of ownership and accountability
