Production Manager

The Production Manager provides strategic direction and day-to-day leadership across multiple operational functions within a manufacturing facility. The individual in this position partners closely with site leadership and production teams to drive strong operational performance, ensure on-time delivery to downstream customers, and identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and support supervisors and professional staff across several plant functions, ensuring consistent execution and alignment of priorities.
  • Promote collaboration, standardized processes, and cross-functional training among operational teams.
  • Manage schedule adjustments, special requests, and associated administrative processes.
  • Support customer visits, manage corrective actions, and ensure consistent quality standards across operations.
  • Oversee ordering, inventory control, and material flow.
  • Partner with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure material availability and cost efficiency.
  • Analyze operational data and key performance indicators to assess results and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead cost-control initiatives and manage departmental budgets tied to areas of responsibility.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for escalated issues involving customers, suppliers, or internal partners.
  • Communicate resolutions clearly and ensure appropriate documentation.
  • Collaborate with leadership across manufacturing, supply chain, design/engineering, and corporate services to align execution with broader business objectives.
  • Build and sustain a high-performing team through effective hiring, coaching, training, and performance management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills
  • Proven collaboration, influence, and conflict-resolution capabilities
  • High level of organization, dependability, and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
