Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead manufacturing operations within a growing building materials facility in the greater Reno area. This individual will be responsible for overseeing daily production activities, driving safety, quality, and productivity initiatives, and developing a high-performing team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience leading frontline employees, improving operational performance, and maintaining a strong safety culture while ensuring production schedules and customer commitments are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals.
- Lead, coach, and develop hourly production employees while fostering accountability and engagement.
- Monitor production performance and address operational issues to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental standards.
- Partner with Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to support smooth plant operations.
- Conduct shift meetings, performance discussions, and employee training initiatives.
- Maintain production records, staffing schedules, and operational reporting.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Support employee development, performance management, and workforce planning efforts.
- Ensure products are manufactured according to quality specifications and customer requirements.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Prior experience leading, supervising, or coordinating production teams.
- Strong communication, coaching, and employee development skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting and effectively prioritize competing demands.
- Working knowledge of safety, quality, and production best practices.
