Project Engineer
The Project Engineer will work full-time onsite in Cary, IL, playing a key role in executing capital and continuous improvement projects across various technical areas such as molding, automation, and product development. This position supports engineering change orders, sustainability initiatives, and dual sourcing efforts, while collaborating cross-functionally to enhance speed to market and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support engineering change orders involving equipment and materials.
- Drive sampling, validation, and production release processes.
- Assist with rapid prototyping and pilot mold development.
- Develop quotations and collaborate with suppliers for molds, automation, and support equipment.
- Identify and implement new technologies for competitive advantage.
- Improve project engineering processes while adhering to ISO standards.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing and quality teams.
- Manage delivery and sampling of new production cells (molds, robotics, assembly).
- Support and document Stage Gate process deliverables.
- Contribute to concept development and design iterations for molds and automation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Polymer, Plastics Engineering, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of statistics and data analytics tools.
- Willingness to travel domestically up to 30%, with occasional international travel.
