Project Engineer

The Project Engineer is responsible for executing professional-level engineering tasks related to production and utility systems. This role involves planning and managing small to medium-sized projects focused on process improvements, safety enhancements, capacity expansion, and utility conservation. The position also supports major capital projects and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate engineering work including P&ID development, equipment and instrumentation specifications, and project cost control.
• Oversee modifications and improvements to ensure compliance with safety, production, and regulatory standards.
• Evaluate and apply standard engineering practices, making necessary adaptations.
• Conduct field checks of system drawings and ensure proper tagging of pipes and valves.
• Prepare and manage project documentation including test reports, installation qualifications, and change management.
• Ensure standardization and accuracy in design documents and schematics.
• Support construction oversight and project closeout activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred) or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of project experience in process, bioprocess, pharmaceutical, or similar industries.
• Experience with equipment such as batch reactors, heat exchangers, pumps, filters, and instrumentation.
• Project management experience is essential.
• Familiarity with DCS and PLC programming is a plus.
