A leading hydroelectric equipment and technology company is seeking a Project Quality Manager to provide quality leadership across complex hydroelectric projects from proposal and contract review through final customer turnover. This is a highly visible role responsible for ensuring quality requirements are effectively planned, executed, monitored, and achieved throughout the entire project lifecycle.

The Project Quality Manager serves as the primary quality representative for assigned projects, partnering closely with customers, project teams, engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, construction, and commissioning functions to drive quality performance, mitigate risks, and deliver successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all project quality activities from bid and contract review through engineering, procurement, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and project closeout.
  • Develop and maintain Project Quality Plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), quality strategies, schedules, and associated documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with customer, contractual, regulatory, environmental, statutory, and company quality requirements.
  • Act as the primary quality liaison for project teams, advising Project Managers and stakeholders on quality-related matters.
  • Identify quality risks, lead root cause investigations, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Champion a proactive culture of quality and continuous improvement across projects and operations.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Construction, and Commissioning teams to resolve quality issues and achieve project objectives.
  • Support supplier quality planning, inspections, manufacturing release activities, and documentation requirements.
  • Coordinate customer audits, inspections, witness points, quality reviews, and project quality meetings.
  • Monitor project quality performance through reporting, trend analysis, metrics, and audit activities.
  • Ensure completion and accuracy of final quality dossiers, turnover packages, release records, and project closeout documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Construction, Project Management, Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Project Quality, Quality Management, Manufacturing Quality, Supplier Quality, Project Management, Engineering, Construction, or related fields.
  • Experience in engineer-to-order, project-based manufacturing, energy, industrial, construction, hydroelectric, or similar environments preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills.

Additional Information

  • Domestic and international travel may be required.
  • Position involves a combination of office, manufacturing, and project-site environments.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and perform periodic site visits as required.
