DSJ Global is partnered with a leading aerospace manufacturer seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join their team in Huntsville, Alabama. This role is ideal for a quality professional who is passionate about driving customer satisfaction, preventing quality escapes, and leading continuous improvement initiatives throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.
As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will serve as a key technical resource responsible for customer quality, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and process improvement efforts. You will collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and leadership teams to ensure products and processes meet the highest quality, regulatory, and customer standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead investigations into customer complaints, quality concerns, and nonconformances.
- Drive containment, corrective, and preventive actions using structured problem-solving methodologies, including 8D and root cause analysis.
- Ensure corrective actions address systemic issues and verify long-term effectiveness.
- Analyze quality data and trends to identify risks, opportunities, and process improvements.
- Utilize quality tools such as SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and DOE to improve product and process performance.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support process changes, product introductions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support customer audits, regulatory audits, and internal quality system requirements.
- Develop and maintain quality metrics, dashboards, and KPI reporting for leadership and customers.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to quality and manufacturing teams.
- Promote a culture of quality, compliance, and operational excellence throughout the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of quality engineering experience in aerospace or a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of AS9100 quality management systems and aerospace industry requirements.
- Demonstrated experience leading root cause investigations and corrective action programs.
- Proficiency with quality tools including FMEA, SPC, MSA, DOE, and Control Plans.
- Experience interacting directly with customers regarding quality issues and resolutions.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Experience supporting FAA and/or EASA regulatory requirements.
- Background in continuous improvement and preventive quality methodologies.
- Experience mentoring engineers or leading quality improvement projects.
