Position Overview
Our Client is seeking a proactive and experienced Quality & Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead site-level quality systems, regulatory compliance, and safety programs within a fast-paced manufacturing operation. This individual will play a key role in driving continuous improvement, ensuring adherence to industry standards, and fostering a strong culture centered on quality and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain the company's Quality Management System (ISO 9001) along with cGMP and related compliance programs
- Lead customer complaint processes, including investigation, resolution, and communication follow-up
- Monitor performance metrics related to quality and implement corrective/preventive action initiatives
- Facilitate internal and external audits, including customer, regulatory, and third-party assessments
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as ISO, AIB, FSC, and other industry requirements
- Develop and manage SOPs, work instructions, and document control systems
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across quality, safety, and operational processes
- Direct and develop Quality Assurance personnel through coaching, training, and performance management
- Manage and enhance site safety programs, including inspections, incident prevention, and equipment oversight
- Coordinate and deliver training related to quality standards, safety practices, and compliance requirements
- Partner with cross-functional teams (operations, production, leadership) to drive efficiencies and improve overall performance
Qualifications
Required:
- 5-7+ years of experience in quality and/or EHS leadership within a manufacturing environment
- Strong background in:
- ISO quality systems
- cGMP standards
- OSHA and workplace safety regulations
- Root cause analysis and corrective action processes
- Experience managing audits, compliance programs, and customer-driven quality initiatives
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop teams
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Industry experience in printing, packaging, folding cartons, or converting
- Familiarity with printing and finishing processes
- Demonstrated success implementing process improvements and driving operational gains
