Quality Manager
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Manager to lead our quality assurance and control efforts in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing and metal finishing environment. This role is critical to ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with industry regulations. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in quality systems, team leadership, and continuous improvement within the aerospace or precision manufacturing sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) teams to ensure compliance with AS9100, NADCAP, and customer-specific requirements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems (QMS) and procedures across all production processes.
- Oversee internal and external audits, including customer and regulatory audits, and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and improve product reliability.
- Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Manage documentation and reporting related to quality performance, non-conformances, and inspection results.
- Train and mentor staff on quality standards, tools, and best practices.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality concerns and ensure timely resolution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field (Master's preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management within the aerospace, defense, or automotive.
- Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, NADCAP, and other relevant aerospace quality standards.
- Proven experience with root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA) and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in quality software tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Certification such as CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) or CQM/OE (Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence) is a plus.
