Quality Supervisor

A well-established food manufacturing organization is seeking a Quality Supervisor to lead food safety, quality assurance, sanitation, and regulatory compliance efforts at a high-volume production facility. This position plays a critical leadership role in ensuring products are manufactured safely, consistently, and in accordance with customer, regulatory, and company standards.

Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams, the Quality Area Manager will provide technical leadership, drive continuous improvement initiatives, support audit readiness, and foster a strong culture of food safety and quality throughout the facility. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving abilities, and experience influencing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead food safety, quality, sanitation, and regulatory compliance programs across the manufacturing facility.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, regulatory standards, and internal quality systems.
  • Manage quality and food safety investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Oversee product disposition decisions, risk assessments, and issue containment activities.
  • Monitor quality performance metrics and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on food safety, quality, and process efficiency.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to support plant performance.
  • Maintain audit readiness and support customer, regulatory, and internal audits.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development for quality team members.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and proactive food safety throughout the facility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing quality, food safety, or regulatory compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, FDA regulations, allergen controls, and food safety systems.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive results.
  • Professional certifications such as SQF, PCQI, HACCP, or Lean Six Sigma are preferred.
