Job Overview

A leading industrial chemical manufacturing organization, is seeking a Safety Operations Specialist to support and strengthen safety programs across multiple facilities. This highly collaborative role will work closely with plant leadership and frontline teams to drive a strong safety culture, ensure compliance with safety standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

The Safety Operations Specialist will serve as a hands-on safety resource, conducting field assessments, supporting incident investigations, delivering training programs, and helping implement company-wide safety initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to influence safety performance across multiple sites while partnering with leaders at all levels of the organization.

Job Requirements

  • Support the implementation and execution of safety programs across multiple manufacturing facilities.
  • Conduct safety audits, field observations, inspections, and compliance assessments.
  • Assist with incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action tracking.
  • Monitor safety trends and proactively identify opportunities for risk reduction.
  • Deliver safety training, onboarding programs, toolbox talks, and employee communications.
  • Develop presentations, training materials, visual communications, and safety documentation.
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams to promote safe work practices.
  • Maintain safety metrics, dashboards, reports, and compliance records.
  • Assist with industrial hygiene initiatives, equipment evaluations, and emergency preparedness activities.
  • Facilitate safety meetings, track action items, and support ongoing safety improvement projects.
  • Travel to manufacturing facilities as needed to support safety programs and plant initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 4+ years of safety experience within manufacturing, industrial, chemical, or related environments.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety practices.
  • Experience conducting safety audits, investigations, inspections, and employee training.
  • Proven ability to influence, coach, and collaborate with employees and leadership at all levels.
  • Experience developing presentations, training materials, and safety communications.
  • Working knowledge of hazard analysis methodologies, job safety analysis, and safety documentation programs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other digital training or reporting systems.
  • Safety certifications such as ASP, CSP, CHST, GSP, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Experience supporting multiple facilities or geographically dispersed operations is a plus.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to travel approximately 20-40% as required.
