Sales Director

Role Overview:
The Sales Director will play a pivotal role in driving the company's growth by identifying new market opportunities, forming strategic partnerships, and expanding revenue streams. Leveraging industry expertise and leadership skills, this individual will develop and implement business strategies that align with the company's long-term vision, with a particular focus on air and ocean freight forwarding.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning: Develops and executes comprehensive business development strategies to achieve company growth objectives, including a three-year strategy for building the sales team.
Market Analysis: Conducts in-depth market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive activities.
Partnerships: Builds and maintains strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and industry associations.
Sales Leadership: Oversees the sales team, sets clear revenue targets, and ensures alignment with marketing efforts. The plan is to have 5 people in the team by the end of the year.
Business Development: Hunts for new business opportunities and is responsible for bringing on new clients, with a deep understanding of which products to target.
Innovation: Collaborates with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions that meet customer needs and maximize profitability.
Performance Monitoring: Tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) and adjusts strategies based on market dynamics to ensure sustained business success.
Risk Management: Identifies and mitigates risks associated with business development initiatives.
Client Relationships: Fosters strong relationships with existing clients and ensures high levels of customer satisfaction.
Independence: Strategizes on how and where to bring on new team members, with the freedom to develop niche markets and products.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field; MBA preferred.
Proven experience as a sales leader within the logistics industry, with a focus on air and ocean freight forwarding.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret market data.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a high-performing sales team.
Strategic thinker with a track record of developing and executing successful business strategies.
Knowledge of industry trends and regulatory changes.
Fluent Dutch speaker required.
