Seafood Sales Representative
Overview
A growing seafood distribution organization is seeking a motivated Sales Representative to develop new business, grow existing customer relationships, and drive revenue throughout the region. This role is ideal for an individual who enjoys prospecting, building long-term partnerships, and serving as a trusted resource to customers within the seafood and foodservice markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate new business through cold calling, networking, referrals, and outbound prospecting.
- Maintain a consistent pipeline of opportunities and daily customer outreach activity.
- Manage and grow existing customer accounts while identifying opportunities to increase sales volume.
- Build relationships with wholesale distributors, retailers, foodservice operators, and seafood buyers.
- Process customer orders and ensure accurate account and sales activity tracking within the CRM system.
- Coordinate with operations, logistics, and inventory teams to ensure timely and accurate product delivery.
- Monitor customer demand, pricing, inventory requirements, and promotional activity.
- Address customer concerns and provide exceptional service to maintain long-term relationships.
- Attend customer meetings, industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities as needed.
- Track territory performance and contribute to sales growth initiatives.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of sales, account management, or business development experience.
- Seafood, food distribution, protein, perishables, or food manufacturing experience required.
- Proven ability to develop new business and grow existing accounts.
- Strong relationship-building and customer service skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational abilities.
- Experience utilizing CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working independently.
Preferred Background
- Experience selling to distributors, retailers, wholesalers, foodservice operators, or seafood buyers.
- Established network within the seafood or food distribution industry.
- Understanding of seafood products, supply chains, inventory management, and market dynamics.
