Senior Application Engineer
Overview
Our partner is a global leader in electrical infrastructure and power distribution solutions seeking a Senior Applications Engineer to serve as a technical expert supporting customers, sales teams, and product management. This role combines pre-sales engineering, customer-facing technical consulting, product strategy, and advanced troubleshooting support for critical electrical distribution equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise and application support for power distribution products and electrical systems.
- Serve as a primary technical resource for customers, sales teams, integrators, and project stakeholders.
- Support pre-sales activities including technical presentations, solution reviews, proposals, and customer consultations.
- Gather customer requirements and collaborate with product management on future product development and portfolio strategy.
- Develop technical documentation, white papers, presentations, and training materials.
- Lead technical demonstrations, proof-of-concept activities, and solution evaluations.
- Assist customers in selecting and implementing optimal electrical distribution solutions.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting support for complex electrical equipment and field applications.
- Support business development initiatives through executive-level customer engagement and technical leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience working with power distribution systems and electrical equipment.
- Experience applying power distribution products in commercial or industrial environments.
- Strong presentation, technical writing, and customer-facing communication skills.
- Knowledge of electrical distribution equipment, controls, and system integration.
- Ability to travel approximately 30% domestically.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in pre-sales engineering, applications engineering, or technical consulting.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- Experience with mission-critical facilities, data centers, or industrial power systems.
- Knowledge of industry organizations and standards (IEEE, NEMA, etc.).
- Experience presenting technical solutions to executive-level stakeholders.
