Senior Electrical Engineer - Waxahachie, TX
Our client, a leading name in the packaging sector, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our client's team in Waxahachie, TX. This is a permanent role where you'll take ownership of large capital automation projects, drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations, and play a key role in supporting equipment installations. You'll also have the opportunity to mentor engineers and shape the future of electrical and controls engineering within our client's team.
Key Responsibilities & Experience
- Lead large capital automation projects, ensuring robust design, execution, and integration within a fast-paced industrial environment.
- Design and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and controls systems to maximise reliability, safety, and productivity.
- Support equipment installations, commissioning, and start-ups across packaging and manufacturing lines.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to optimise processes and reduce downtime.
- Mentor and guide engineers, sharing best practices and developing technical capability within our client's team.
- Bring experience from manufacturing or industrial settings to enhance project delivery and operational performance.
Qualifications
- BS degree plus approximately 6 years of relevant experience, or AS degree plus approximately 12 years of relevant experience.
Key Skills
- Engineering: Strong electrical and controls engineering foundation to design, analyse, and improve complex systems.
- PLC: Hands-on expertise programming and troubleshooting PLCs for automated packaging and manufacturing equipment.
- Packaging: Understanding of packaging operations and equipment, enabling effective solutions tailored to the sector.
- Texas Location: Ability to work onsite in Waxahachie, TX, collaborating closely with our client's team and operations.
Salary
Base salary: $100,000 - $150,000, depending on experience.
