Role Overview
A global FMCG company is seeking a Senior Manager of Planning to lead end-to-end planning operations from its Helsinki hub. This senior leadership role carries ownership across demand, supply, and inventory planning, supporting complex international product portfolios and fast-moving categories.
The role is instrumental in shaping planning strategy, advancing S&OP / IBP maturity, and partnering with regional and global stakeholders to balance growth, service, and cost.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop supply, demand, and/or integrated planning teams within a global operating model
- Own the end-to-end planning framework, aligning commercial demand with supply capabilities and inventory strategy
- Drive S&OP / IBP processes across markets, delivering scenario planning and executive-ready recommendations
- Act as a strategic partner to senior stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Manufacturing, and Logistics
- Define and govern planning KPIs, driving performance, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Provide leadership and governance across planning systems, with strong hands-on understanding of SAP APO (and/or SAP IBP), ensuring optimal use, data quality, and continuous enhancement
- Lead planning transformation initiatives, including process optimisation and systems evolution
- Proactively identify supply and demand risks, translating complexity into clear trade-offs for senior decision-makers
Candidate Profile
- Extensive experience in FMCG or consumer goods planning within a regional or global environment
- Proven leadership experience at Senior Manager level, leading teams and influencing senior stakeholders
- Deep expertise across demand planning, supply planning, inventory optimisation, and S&OP / IBP
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP APO, with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational level (IBP exposure is a plus)
- Track record of leading change initiatives, planning transformations, or system enhancements
- Commercial mindset with advanced analytical, strategic, and communication skills
- Fluent in English; additional European languages are advantageous
