Senior Optical Engineer
Description
We are seeking a talented, enthusiastic, and creative optical engineer to join our expanding team focused on optical design services and advanced optical system development. In this role, you will collaborate with a diverse group of engineers to design and build innovative products for a wide range of consumer, industrial, medical, and aerospace applications.
This environment is ideal for engineers who enjoy participating in every stage of product development-from concept creation, modeling, and simulation to hands-on prototyping and laboratory testing. You'll have the opportunity to bring your designs to life and see them transition into manufactured products. Requirements
- Highly motivated individual with 7+ years of innovative work experience in optical or electro-optical systems, contributing both as a technical expert and as a project leader
- Broad experience in optical design; exposure to diverse optical challenges is highly valued
- Desired expertise includes:
- Lens design across UV to LWIR wavelengths (experience with Zemax OpticStudio preferred)
- Illumination design and non-sequential ray tracing
- Radiometry and photometry
- Physical optics and interferometry
- Conceptual optomechanical design
- Enjoys hands-on laboratory work
- Comfortable building and testing your own designs
- Experience using optical test equipment such as interferometers, autocollimators, spectrophotometers, etc.
- Degree in Optics or Physics; postgraduate degree preferred but not required
- US citizenship or permanent residency required
