Senior Project Engineer (Plastics / Injection Molding)
Role Overview:
As a Senior Project Engineer, you will play a key role in managing complex engineering projects within plastics and injection moulding. You will lead the development and industrialisation of packaging components, ensuring technical feasibility, cost efficiency, and compliance with quality standards. This position requires strong technical knowledge, project management skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with design, operations, and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end project execution for new packaging components, from concept to production.
- Develop and validate injection moulding processes, tooling, and material specifications.
- Collaborate with design teams to ensure manufacturability and performance requirements.
- Manage timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver projects on schedule.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in tooling, process optimisation, and sustainability.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve technical challenges.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality systems.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in plastics and injection moulding within packaging or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of mould design, polymer materials, and processing technologies.
- Proven track record in project management and cross-functional collaboration.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with CAD software and mould flow analysis tools is a plus.
