SHEQ Manager

The SHEQ Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining integrated Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality management systems within a chemical manufacturing environment. This role ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage SHEQ programs to ensure a safe, compliant, and high-performing work environment.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain management systems aligned with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to chemical manufacturing, safety, and environmental protection.
  • Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses, and incident investigations, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety performance, environmental impact reduction, and product quality.
  • Oversee audits (internal and external), inspections, and certification processes.
  • Deliver SHEQ training programs and promote a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, customers, and stakeholders on SHEQ matters.
  • Monitor and report on SHEQ performance metrics, KPIs, and compliance status.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemical, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Extensive SHEQ experience in a chemical or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and ISO management systems.
  • Proven leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, ISO Lead Auditor) preferred.
