Position Overview: Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) Engineer

We are hiring an experienced SIS Engineer to support instrumentation and electrical systems at a major manufacturing facility. This role focuses on Safety Instrumented System lifecycle management and project implementation to enhance site reliability and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide design engineering support for instrumentation and electrical projects.
  • Develop scopes of work for shutdown maintenance and proof testing of IPL equipment.
  • Support turnaround and inspection (T&I) activities.
  • Lead project teams and ensure success across cost, timing, and quality metrics.
  • Participate in safety lifecycle phases and process safety engineering initiatives.
  • Offer technical expertise in instrumentation and electrical systems.
  • Assist with startup of new installations and participate in hazard analyses and incident investigations.
  • Perform equipment design calculations and specify new equipment.
  • Coordinate drafting resources and develop spare parts lists.
  • Conduct project meetings and oversee field implementation.
  • Utilize SIL calculation tools (e.g., exSILentia, SLM FaultTree+).
  • Support alarm management and SIS cybersecurity efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate across teams and contribute to company-wide goals.
  • Participate in required training and EHS initiatives.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, Control Systems, or Chemical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in I/E and SIS project engineering.
  • CSFE/CSFP certification (or in process of obtaining).
  • Eligibility for Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office, and internet tools.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, UL, IEC, ISA).
