Site Manager
The Site Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations at a 3PL facility specializing in heavy industrial materials. This role ensures efficient, safe, and compliant handling, storage, and distribution of goods while maintaining high standards of customer service and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
- Manage daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, inventory control, and outbound logistics.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, especially regarding heavy and oversized materials.
- Develop and implement SOPs for handling industrial goods, including hazardous or high-value items.
Team Management
- Lead, train, and supervise warehouse staff including supervisors, forklift operators, and logistics coordinators.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Customer & Vendor Relations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met or exceeded.
- Coordinate with transportation providers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
Inventory & Systems
- Oversee inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and system reconciliation.
- Utilize WMS and ERP systems to monitor performance and generate reports.
Financial & Strategic Planning
- Manage site budget, control costs, and identify opportunities for operational efficiency.
- Support strategic initiatives including automation, layout optimization, and capacity planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in warehouse or logistics management, preferably in a 3PL environment.
- Experience handling heavy industrial materials (e.g., steel, machinery, construction components).
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in WMS/ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- OSHA certification or equivalent safety training (preferred).
