About the Role
We are seeking a Procurement Engineer to play a key role in driving sourcing strategies and supplier partnerships for our medical/surgical product portfolio. This position works closely with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure components and assemblies meet technical, regulatory, and business requirements. You'll be involved throughout the product lifecycle, from design through launch, aligning procurement decisions with engineering specifications and manufacturing capabilities.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for components and assemblies
- Partner with engineering teams to interpret design requirements and BOMs
- Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers to mitigate risk and improve supply resilience
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost and quality objectives
- Conduct supplier evaluations, qualifications, and ongoing performance reviews
- Collaborate with quality and sourcing teams to ensure compliance with standards
- Manage procurement projects including RFQs, cost analysis, and implementation
- Monitor and improve key metrics such as cost, lead time, and supplier performance
- Build strong relationships across global teams and suppliers to meet program goals
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Required)
- 3+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supplier development
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and specifications
- Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across functions and time zones
- Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally
- Familiarity with validation processes (IQ, OQ, PQ) is a plus
