Sr. Maintenance and Reliability Engineer
The Senior Maintenance & Reliability Engineer is responsible for developing and executing strategies that improve equipment reliability, optimize maintenance practices, and ensure safe, efficient operations within a chemical manufacturing facility. This role provides technical leadership, drives reliability‑focused initiatives, and collaborates cross‑functionally to minimize downtime, enhance asset performance, and support regulatory compliance in a highly controlled environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead reliability engineering efforts, including root cause analysis (RCA), failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and predictive/preventive maintenance optimization.
- Develop equipment reliability strategies, long‑term asset plans, and maintenance standards to improve uptime and reduce lifecycle costs.
- Support day‑to‑day maintenance activities by providing technical expertise on rotating equipment, fixed equipment, instrumentation, and utilities.
- Analyze maintenance and performance data to identify trends, reliability risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Champion implementation of reliability tools and technologies (e.g., vibration analysis, infrared thermography, oil analysis, condition‑based monitoring).
- Ensure compliance with chemical industry safety requirements, mechanical integrity programs, and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, PSM).
- Lead cross‑functional teams in troubleshooting, turnaround planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- 7+ years of maintenance or reliability engineering experience, preferably in chemical, petrochemical, or process manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of reliability methodologies (RCA, RCM, FMEA) and maintenance best practices.
- Experience with CMMS systems and asset performance data analysis.
- Familiarity with PSM‑regulated environments and mechanical integrity programs.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and project management skills.
