Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Manager, Supply Chain Excellence (COE) to drive operational excellence, process standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives across a complex chemical manufacturing supply chain network. This highly visible leadership role will serve as the organization's supply chain transformation leader, partnering with Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, Customer Service, and Commercial teams to improve performance, optimize processes, and enhance end-to-end supply chain capabilities.

The successful candidate will leverage data analytics, Lean methodologies, and supply chain best practices to develop scalable processes, improve KPIs, and support strategic initiatives across multiple manufacturing and distribution locations. This individual will act as the central point of excellence for supply chain performance and capability development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the Supply Chain Center of Excellence strategy across planning, procurement, inventory management, logistics, and customer fulfillment functions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on service, cost, inventory optimization, operational efficiency, and working capital reduction.
  • Establish and standardize supply chain processes, governance structures, and performance management frameworks.
  • Develop KPI dashboards and reporting tools that provide visibility into key supply chain metrics including OTIF, forecast accuracy, inventory turns, fill rates, logistics costs, and supplier performance.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to identify process gaps and implement sustainable solutions that improve end-to-end supply chain performance.
  • Lead supply chain transformation projects, including S&OP enhancement, planning optimization, network improvements, and digital supply chain initiatives.
  • Champion Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies throughout the organization.
  • Support ERP and supply chain technology optimization initiatives, ensuring alignment between business processes and system capabilities.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective action planning for recurring operational and service performance challenges.
  • Benchmark industry best practices and identify opportunities to strengthen supply chain capabilities across the organization.
  • Develop training programs and best practices that build organizational supply chain competencies.
  • Mentor and develop supply chain professionals while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, Operations Management, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8+ years of progressive supply chain experience within the chemical manufacturing industry.
  • Experience leading supply chain excellence, continuous improvement, transformation, or COE initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain planning, inventory management, procurement, logistics, and manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional projects that deliver measurable business results.
  • Experience developing KPI frameworks and utilizing data analytics to drive decision-making.
  • Knowledge of S&OP, Integrated Business Planning (IBP), and supply chain process optimization.
  • Strong project management, change management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Master's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or Business.
  • APICS certifications (CPIM, CSCP) and/or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing operations.
  • Exposure to supply chain digital transformation, advanced planning systems, and predictive analytics tools.
  • Experience within specialty chemicals, industrial chemicals, performance materials, or process manufacturing environments.
