Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager

Location: Nashville, TN
Compensation: $120,000-$140,000 base salary + bonus/benefits
Reports To: Director of Supply Chain

Role Summary

The Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager will lead all procurement activities supporting manufacturing operations in a complex, high-mix, low-volume discrete manufacturing environment. This role owns sourcing strategy and execution with a strong focus on supplier localization, cost reduction, and gross margin enhancement. The ideal candidate brings deep direct materials expertise and a proven ability to transition suppliers while delivering measurable financial results.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all procurement and strategic sourcing activities supporting manufacturing operations
  • Own supplier localization and onshoring strategy, including transitioning components from international suppliers to qualified domestic partners
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies focused on cost reduction, margin improvement, and supply continuity
  • Apply Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models to sourcing and supplier selection decisions
  • Manage large direct material spend and negotiate complex supplier agreements
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, and Finance to support gross margin and operational goals
  • Drive supplier performance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Operate effectively in a high-mix, low-volume, mixed-model manufacturing environment

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive procurement and strategic sourcing leadership experience
  • Proven success managing significant direct material spend
  • Demonstrated track record of quantified cost savings and successful supplier transitions (international to domestic preferred)
  • Experience in complex manufacturing environments (discrete manufacturing strongly preferred)
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, including cost modeling and margin analysis
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence senior stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or certifications (CPM, CPSM) a plus
